Ahmedabad – In Gujarat, buying together has become an art form – and a profitable one at that. Communities across the state are proving that when Gujaratis unite, luxury becomes affordable and livelihoods grow stronger. Two landmark community-driven buying campaigns have recently delivered a combined saving of ?25 crore, redefining how collective commerce works in India.
Jain Community's INR 21 Crore Win on 186 Luxury Cars
In one of the most remarkable examples of group buying in recent times, members of the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) banded together to purchase 186 luxury cars from premium brands under a single national initiative.
The result was spectacular – INR 21 crore saved across brands including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz with its rich brand history, and a dozen other premium names.
Deal Snapshot
- Total cars: 186
- Total spend: INR 149.5 crore
- Total savings: INR 21 crore
- Price per vehicle: INR 60 lakh to INR 1.3 crore
- Participants: Predominantly Jain community members from Gujarat
"Community buying gives us the power to bargain harder with brands. Brands benefit from assured volumes and lower marketing costs, while members enjoy massive savings," said Himanshu Shah, Vice Chairman, JITO Apex.
Encouraged by this success, JITO plans to create a dedicated group-buying vertical, extending the model to jewellery from India's top designers, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and other key categories.
Bharwad Community's Rural Revolution – INR 4 Crore Saved on 121 JCB Machines
Collective power in Gujarat isn't limited to luxury - it builds livelihoods too. The Bharwad Yuva Sangathan, representing the state's traditional cattle-herding community, recently joined hands to buy 121 JCB machines, enabling rural youth to start self-employment ventures.

Collective Bargaining: Gujarat's Economic Superpower
Gujarat's business ethos has always been rooted in trust, collaboration, and scale. The success of these two initiatives demonstrates how community-based buying can match corporate-level negotiation power, driving win-win outcomes for both brands and buyers.

What's Next for Gujarat's Group-Buying Wave?
After these high-impact deals, more Gujarati communities are expected to formalize collective-purchase frameworks – spanning everything from luxury real estate in India and gold to farm equipment and education.
By turning individual consumption into organized collaboration, Gujarat is once again proving why it remains the country's most enterprising state – where buying together means winning together.
