The Upcoming Present Future Auction by AstaGuru Will Include The Artwork of British-Indian Artist Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor Works of Art:

As part of AstaGuru's upcoming Present Future auction of contemporary art, two of Anish Kapoor's most impressive sculptures will be up for bid.

Lot number. 17, dated 2005, is a beautiful bronze and lacquer sculpture by the conceptual artist that is making its debut at auction. Globally renowned for large-scale sculptures that manipulate depth and perspective, his work requires attention and spectator interaction because to its size, vibrancy, and perceptual manipulation. In contrast to his typical large-scale public commissions, Anish Kapoor's smaller sculptures, such as this one, provide a more intimate view into his work and are a change from his normal small-scale works. It will be auctioned between 70,000,000 and 80,000,000 INR.

Lot number. 81 is one of the artist's noteworthy series of stainless steel reflecting discs. Depending on their finishes, the pieces in this series try to provide both a flawless and distorted reflection of what they reflect. This sculpture was produced in 2011 and measures more over 5 feet in diameter. It will be marketed at an estimated price range of 5,500,000 to 7,500,000 INR.

Anish Kapoor, who was born in Mumbai, India in 1954, completed his BFA at Hornsey College of Art and his MFA at Chelsea School of Art and Design in the United Kingdom. Since then, he has lived and worked in London.

He was the first live British artist to exhibit at the Royal Academy in London in 2009. During his distinguished career, he has also garnered several accolades and honours, including the Turner Prize in 1991, election as a Royal Academician in 1999, the Padma Bhushan in 2012, and knighthood in 2013.

The 'Present Future' contemporary art auction will be held on September 22-23, 2022 with 81 works, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, as well as some vibrant examples of mixed media art by leading contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor, Thukral & Tagra, Surendran Nair, Raqib Shaw, Debanjan Roy, Nataraj Sharma, T.V. Santhosh, Chittrovanu Mazumdar, Jagannath Panda, Dhananjay Singh and Suryakant Lokhande among others.
