Seattle-Based Headless E-commerce Startup Fabric Raises 100 Million USD in Series B Funding

Fabric - an exciting headless ecommerce start up

As per the about us section of Fabric’s official website; Fabric was born from a desire to democratize commerce by giving every business access to world-class technologies that are traditionally held only by the largest organizations. Indeed with the headless commerce APIs that seamlessly scale commerce experiences, Seattle based e-commerce startup Fabric is making a lot of heads turn for the right reasons. It is therefore no surprise that Fabric has managed to raise 100 million USD in its latest funding round.

Fabric was founded in 2017 by Ryan Bartley, a business executive with work experience at eBay and Staples. The rapid growth in e-commerce especially during the times of the pandemic has definitely increased business for online retail companies and a simple solution like Fabric is making the internet a more equal playground for such companies.

What is the headless thing all about?

Fabric specializes in platform development and the unique ‘headless’ thing it has done is that it has decoupled the UI from the database allowing for easy storefront edits that are not limited by backend architecture challenges. This factor makes it extremely user friendly for businesses using Fabric for their e commerce ventures.

Latest funding round for Fabric

New York-based private equity firm Stripes was at the forefront of the latest fundraising round for Fabric. B Capital Group and Greycroft were the new set of investors to come in during this round. This particular fund infusion has ensured that the valuation of Fabric has gone up from 193 million USD to 850 million USD.

With its cloud-native experience and commerce product suite, Fabric is helping global commerce brands to deliver fantastic customer experiences at a low cost and less time, with zero replatforming and negligible use of technical resources. Fabric's open, modular design can go online within weeks and this easy to use solution is helping digital commerce businesses to grow exponentially.
