Hub India - A Spectacular and Unique Art Exhibition Goes Live in Turin, Italy

Hub India at Turin, Italy

With 65 plus extraordinary Indian artists, a spectacular and unique art exhibition called Hub India has recently commenced in Turin, Italy. It has been curated by cultural producer and founder and director of Engendered - Myna Mukherjee and Davide Quadrio, Sinologist, curator and art historian & founder of BizArt, Arthub Asia.

Myna Mukherjee and Davide Quadrio have collaborated with Fondazione Torino Musei, Emami Art, Engendered, Arthub, and Turin’s annual contemporary art fair to organize Hub India. The Consulate General of India, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art are also supporting this amazing art extravaganza.

Bouncing back with art

As the pandemic saga seems like ending, this art project featuring more than 65 Indian artists is crucial at this point in time. As we come back from our deepest time of grief and fear, moving towards art is surely a good option.Hub India is a positive reminder about the irrepressible quality within all humans to bounce back and come back stronger and more resilient.

The opening of this major art project signals a re-launch for public engagements with art from across the world especially at such an intense time like the last few years and months where we have been jolted with real unpleasant surprises.

Hub India - history

As a matter of fact, Hub India was originally initiated for Turin’s annual contemporary art fair, Artissima to provide an overview of the art ecosystem in India. However it has since grown into a much more expansive curation that will be showcased across four venues--three permanent museum installations and one traveling show!

The installation at Accademia Albertina is set up as three parts: “Maximum Minimum” features new artwork from young photographers who challenging gender norms through their photos; " Classical radicals" looks back upon centuries worth Italian history by showing how artists like Caravaggio revolutionized painting forever with his chaotic scenes describing authenticity even if they were false costumes on stage.

Visitors can view the glorious art at Hub India exhibition until 27th February 2022.
