Zaha Hadid Architects Joins Forces With Rossinavi to Create the Oneiric, a Fully Electric Yacht

Rossinavi and Zaha Hadid Architects have worked on a revolutionary catamaran design. Oneiric is the green-technology flagship of the Italian shipyard, including three layers of solar panels to enable totally electric navigation and an AI-managed control centre to reduce environmental effect and manage energy use. A prototype of the Oneiric catamaran's undulating shape might be entirely powered by solar panels.

On a single-day excursion, the Oneiric may operate 100 percent of the time in emission-free, full-electric mode. On transatlantic journeys, the yacht may operate in full-electric mode up to 70 percent of the time, saving over 40 tonnes of carbon dioxide compared to a traditional vessel. The solar panels, which continuously charge the battery pack during daytime hours, are also intended for times when the boat is not in use and, when moored, may provide electricity to a family residence on land.

The external and interior design of the boat are inspired by the movement of waves. The cockpit on the main deck is a patio with walls and a ceiling that are somewhat bent to provide an organic continuity that greatly enhances the ocean views. The swim platforms on the lower level expand, removing the walls and ceiling to provide a direct connection to the water.

Multiple indoor and outdoor salon and eating rooms, an attractive cinema room with entertainment technology, a spacious owner's bedroom, and four guest cabins are included on the boat. The master bedroom has a 180-degree outlook and skylights that enable light to enter from above. The Owner's stateroom has direct access to the front outdoor salon area, which may be sheltered by retractable structures, since the yacht's internal sections are interconnected.

In full-electric mode, the boat is capable of operating silently. Rossinavi Zero Noise technology isolates all onboard noise at its origin.
