This is definitely the future and it is happening now. These two companies have come together to create a water machine consisting of the same powertrain as VW’s ID.3 and ID.4. This development is exciting and it definitely promises to be one major milestone in the world of catamarans.

German automaker to make yachts

For almost a century now, the very famous German car brand Volkswagen has been making some of the best cars and luxury cars for the world. Its tagline Das Auto resonates with every car lover in the world. Well Volkswagen is now mixing its profile and has now added the maufacturing of yachts as part of is business. Its confirmed the launch of its upcoming solar-electric catamaran that will propel the German automobile giant into the world of yachts and catamarans too. This new yacht will be empowered by Volkswagen's modular e-drive system (MEB) powertrain and solar panels.

Volkswagen has commenced its new journey in the world of yachts by shaking hands with Silent Yachts, an Austria based yacht developer that has made a name for itself in the world of yachts. Their joint venture is going to create a solar eletric catamaran that will deploy the tech and powertrains currently used in Volkswagen’s ID.3 and ID.4 that are already empowering a lot of catamarans.
