A Vision in Motion: Introducing Big Naan
Columbus Yachts presents Big Naan, the first model in its new Crossover line - a vessel that doesn't just sail but sets an entirely new course for modern yacht design. More than a yacht, it is a sculpture of movement, a poetic expression of innovation, artistry, and adventure on the open sea.
Designed by Hydro Tec with interiors by Hot Lab, this 42-metre explorer superyacht embodies the perfect balance between power and grace. With a displacement of 443 GT, her forward-pushed lines, muscular stance, and harmonious proportions convey strength and serenity. The steel hull with its bulbous bow and flattened aft sections exudes confidence and capability, while the aluminium superstructure lends a sense of lightness and agility.
Power Meets Poise: The Exterior Experience
Compact yet remarkably versatile, Big Naan redefines what's possible within her dimensions. Her spacious cockpit can accommodate a 5.9-metre SOLAS-certified tender, operated by a recessed crane on the starboard side - a testament to both practicality and design intelligence.
One of her most striking features is the structural saltwater swimming pool - a technical and aesthetic masterpiece holding 17 cubic metres of water, nearly two metres deep. With four glass walls, it floods the beach club below with natural light, transforming it into a sanctuary that feels both intimate and infinite.
The beach club, accessible via hydraulic doors on both sides of the aft platform, is a flexible, light-filled space. Outfitted with Technogym equipment, it can easily morph into a spa or massage suite. Natural light from the pool above creates a tranquil atmosphere, harmonising sea, space, and serenity.
An Interior Story of Design, Emotion, and Light
Hot Lab's interior design captures an emotional balance between structure and softness. Similar to their work on the Bilgin 163 superyacht Eternal Spark, marble, metals, and tactile fabrics come together in a visual symphony - a play of textures and tones enriched by bursts of pop art and bespoke furniture. The open layout encourages social interaction while maintaining privacy, with lighting that evolves through the day, echoing the rhythm of the sea.
The main salon is a canvas of warm greys, creams, and beige enlivened by bold accents. Pop artworks framed in marble and micro-perforated metal ceilings give the space a contemporary gallery-like elegance that redefines luxury interior design. The custom Minotti dining table, paired with dramatic lighting, sets the stage for both intimate and celebratory dining.
A custom-designed metal bar greets guests upon entry, its woven pattern shimmering under soft illumination, while Eichholtz sofas and Gervasoni poufs invite relaxation. Every space flows effortlessly into the next, creating a sense of continuous openness.
The Owner's Sanctuary
The owner's suite, forward on the main deck, is a private world of refinement. A study with a grey leather desk leads to a spacious cabin, large wardrobe, and a marble-clad bathroom with a double shower. Each detail feels intentional - from the ambient lighting to the personal artefacts that make this yacht a true home at sea.
Luxury Above and Below
The upper deck cockpit overlooks a media and gaming room, seamlessly connected to the outdoors through sliding glass doors. The sun deck, stretching 12 metres long and 7 metres wide, epitomizes open-air luxury. A teak Roda dining table, bar, grill, and a rotating 360-degree TV make it the ultimate setting for entertainment. Lounges at both bow and aft ensure every view is the best seat onboard.
Below deck, four guest cabins include two VIP suites and two convertible rooms, all adorned with Armani wallpapers, velvet headboards, and custom lighting. The nine-member crew is accommodated in four double cabins, while the captain's cabin sits conveniently beside the wheelhouse.
Engineering Excellence and Sustainability
Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines generating 742 kW each, Big Naan achieves a top speed above 14 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots. With a range exceeding 5,500 nautical miles at an economical 10 knots and compliance with IMO Tier III emission standards, she is as responsible as she is powerful.
Her advanced stabilizer system ensures smooth sailing, while dual watermakers supply fresh water for extended voyages. Every technical detail underscores comfort, efficiency, and environmental care.
Big Naan: The New Language of the Sea
Big Naan is not just a vessel but a philosophy in motion. She represents Columbus Yachts' drive to merge heritage with innovation, crafting a superyacht that feels both timeless and ahead of its time. Much like how luxury yachts symbolize the pinnacle of affluence, this vessel stands alongside other remarkable creations such as the Sunseeker 75 Sport Yacht and the Custom Line 140 superyacht. It's a statement of design, freedom, and the enduring allure of the sea - the beginning of a bold new narrative in luxury exploration. For those seeking vessels that redefine luxury travel, Big Naan sets an extraordinary new standard.
