Andres Brugal is a Limited-Edition, Luxury Product Honouring a Path of Greatness

A premium rum from the Dominican Republic that has won several awards, Brugal, has now released its most distinctive expression to date: Andrés Brugal.

The fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana created the ultra-premium rum to celebrate the pioneering character of the company's founder, Andrés Brugal.

With this release, the firm combines two double-aged reserves with first-fill single barrels for the first time.

The roasted coffee bean and freshly harvested cacao flavours in Andrés Brugal are perfectly balanced by the scent of homemade dulce de leche fudge and the buttery smoothness of Dominican rum cake, making for a bright amber beverage. On the tongue, oak, vanilla bean, and creamy caramel flan are joined by the flavours of fresh berries, delicate flavours of aromatic black peppercorns, and sweet cloves. Warm, woodsy aromas abound in the dry, smooth, lingering aftertaste.

Bottled in a limited edition, hand-blown crystal decanter and presented in a handmade display cabinet modelled by the famed travelling cases past Maestros used on their travels, this unique release is really something to see. Brugal's signature diamond design, seen on many of their bottle neck nettings, is etched on its outside sides. The dark amber colour of the rum is accentuated by the reflected light from the many reflective surfaces around it. These areas have a subtle world map carving that represents Don Andrés's first voyage from Spain to the Caribbean and the subsequent rise to prominence that followed.

In all, just 460 bottles have been produced for sale across the world; the United States will get exclusive distribution of 50 of those bottles. A bottle of this ultra-premium rum will set you back USD 2,800.
