Zurich Headquartered Oeko-Tex Reaffirms its Commitment to Environmental Objectives

To mark 3 decades of its existence, Oeko-Tex, a producer of manufacturing solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to allowing responsible consumption and highlighted major milestones previously accomplished.

The company, formed in 1992, today operates 17 independent research and testing institutions and has worked with 21,000 businesses to provide over 235,000 certificates.

Additionally, the organisation said that it has set standards and test procedures for the whole supply chain with success.

While Oeko-Tex will continue to monitor technical and scientific breakthroughs in the textile sector, it has also announced new objectives and initiatives for this year, including the newly released Impact Calculator, which offers statistics on a company's carbon emissions and water consumption.

The solutions developer also plans to provide a service to assist businesses in transitioning to the impending EU due diligence rules, with a June debut date.

"Our services increase openness in the global textile and leather industries' supply chains,"
stated Georg Dieners, Oeko-secretary Tex's general, in a press release.
"They empower all stakeholders to make conscious choices that contribute to the preservation of our world for future generations."
