Why Your Next Luxury Watch Investment Should Come From Japan

We all have adored the Swiss horological masterpieces, but over the year, other nations are making their entry into this race too. One such nation is Japan who has often been overlooked as pursuits of the quartz revolution which made accuracy and style affordable to the masses.

Seiko is one of a kind brand who has worked long and offered you such timepieces that will leave you stunned. It is like a ready to wear vertical in the horology industry that offers serious bang for the buck in quartz, self-winding and automatic variants.

Apart from Seiko is the Grand Seiko who brings to you the brilliance of haute couture. As the brand will celebrate its 60th anniversary, it introduced back in March, three recreations of the 1960s models. Statement pieces that illustrate sheer elegance as they come in titanium, platinum and gold, all with the self-winding 9S64 calibre and a size boost to 38mm from the original 35.

They have marked the anniversary of Grand Seiko to show their three pillars-  restrained, elegant, ikebana for the wrist. This December, brace yourself to witness the Grand Seiko 60th Anniversary Limited Edition. Just 1000 of these sapphire-faced beauties will be made.

It is encased in a 47 jewelled stainless-steel 40mm diameter case and has an exclusive 9SA5 Hi-Beat calibre which clocks 36,000 vibrations per hour. The power reserve sits at a not-too-shabby 80 hours while the silhouette has been slimmed down by 15 per cent. Featuring enough proprietary tech - a dual impulse escapement and a free-sprung balance.

Points too for horizontal gear train featuring a ripple design evoking the Shizukuishi River close to the manufacturing plant. - The red second hand will provide a pop of colour to suit the more contemporary needs. The price will sit at approximately $14,500.
