Top Fashion Houses Planning to Leave Behind Their Fashion Calendar Due to Pandemic

The virus-imposed lockdown has disrupted the production and consumption pattern of top luxury houses and this has viciously impacted not only their fashion cycle but also their bottom-line.

Top luxury fashion houses are considering to re-think their pace of fashion. They are planning on a less hectic and more considered period of production, creativity, and consumption.

Creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele is aiming for appointments twice a year, one being in the fall and other in spring to present their men’s and women’s collections.

Two appointments in a year will give rise to more creative thoughts and will enable them to give more time to the entire system, as per Michele.

Michele feels that this virus-imposed shutdown has recharged every designer’s creativity by providing them more time to reflect. “It is a great gift that our planet gave us, a gift that cannot be discarded”, said Michele.

Saint Laurent also planning to cut down their fashion schedule, they said in a statement that that they are “conscious of the current circumstances and its wave of radical change” and they will take control of this fashion schedule.
