The TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 Limited Edition is Super Impressive

TAG Heuer and Porsche have unveiled the fourth edition of their co-designed product. Two new limited-edition TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 clocks honour the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, one of Porsche's most renowned automobiles and the first 911 to bear the Carrera brand.

The TAG Heuer Carrera and the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 are, respectively, two of the most well-known racing and watch designs.

The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show on 5 October 1972, was a street-legal racing vehicle meant to enable customers to compete in racing events. The very same approach led to the creation of the Heuer Carrera chronograph, which was intended to provide superior timekeeping and legibility in high-speed racing settings. Red and blue were picked from a pallet of 27 colours evocative of the 1970s for the TAG Heuer anniversary timepieces.

Two new limited-edition TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 watches are based on the 42mm TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph with date window.

Elegant tricompax arrangement, minutes and hour chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o'clock, and perpetual second and date display at 6 o'clock. The chronograph has a Calibre Heuer 02 movement with an outstanding 80-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement's oscillating mass is supposed to imitate Porsche's three-spoke steering wheel and bears the insignia of both businesses.

The blue edition is limited to 500 copies only. The polished steel case, rhodium-plated indices, and hour and minute hands were influenced by the automobile's chrome door handles, mirrors, and window frames. The watch sports blue markings on the Calibre Heuer 02 oscillating mass, blue lacquered chronograph and central hands, blue lacquered push buttons, and a blue lacquered crown logo.

The appearance of the right sub-counter is evocative of the rims, while the signature colour stripe and Carrera logo make a bold statement on the dial, flange, and case side. In addition to a traditional steel band with ergonomic H-shaped links, the clock has a sporty fabric strap with the Porsche symbol and Carrera badge.

The red variant is even more limited, with just 250 units marked XXX/250. The case is constructed of 18K 5N rose gold, as are the crown, pushers, and screw-secured sapphire case back. The white dial has attached rose-gold indices, a perpetual second display, and hour and minute hands. It is surrounded by a circular Guards Red line. The watch has a beautiful red alligator strap with a rose gold pin clasp.

Each of these two clocks for collectors is shipped in a co-branded, individually designed TAG Heuer Porsche box with brilliantly coloured inlays. Beginning on October 5, 2022, they will be sold only at TAG Heuer boutiques, on the brand's e-commerce websites, and via select retail partners.
