The Mesmerising Tale of Manish Malhotra

The name Manish Malhotra is connected with Indian and Bollywood fashion. Each celebrity, from Kareena Kapoor Khan to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone to Sridevi, is likely an admirer of his work. It is thus hard to imagine that the model-turned-costume-designer-turned-couturier established his fame without any training. The designer who has always been enthusiastic about Bollywood apparently did not attend design school, but he did watch a Bollywood film almost every day, which served as his training ground.

The development of Indian fashion may be traced alongside Malhotra's work. It's fair to say that manish Malhotra has done everything, from creating the Filmfare Award-winning costumes for Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela (1995) to displaying at the first Lakme Fashion Week in 2006 to designing the costumes for the play 'Mughal-e-Aazam' in 2016 to speaking to Harvard students.

His work to the Indian film industry is irreplaceable, having created iconic looks for films such as Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). Malhotra's path, however, has not been devoid of highs and lows. Asper Manish's ability to be unaffected by the views of others and his tenacity contributed to the formation of his work ethic.
