The FlyingT From MB&F is Back With a Golden Tiger's Eye Dial Plate & Yellow Gold Case That is Stunning

The Legacy Machine FlyingT is the first women-specific three-dimensional horological watch introduced by MB&F in 2019. The watch was first offered in three diamond-set white gold editions: black lacquer dial plate with brilliant-cut diamond-set case, dial plate and case both completely set with brilliant-cut diamonds, and dial plate and case both fully set with baguette-cut diamonds.

Later, further variants were introduced to the FlyingT series, including a model in 18K red gold or platinum with guilloche dial plates but no diamonds; three diamond-set editions with gemstone dial plates: 18K white gold case with lapis lazuli dial plate and 18K white gold with malachite dial plate. The most recent offering from MB&F is the Legacy Machine FlyingT Tiger Eye, which boasts a dial made of tiger's eye and a casing studded with diamonds.

As with previous LM FlyingT models, the new MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Tiger Eye casing is 38.5mm in diameter. It has a sharply cambered bezel and diamond-set, slim, elongated lugs. From the bezel rises a high, extravagantly convex sapphire crystal dome. Under the dome is a dial plate made of tiger's eye that is delicately bent.

A dial plate with an asymmetric ventricle aperture frames a flying tourbillon that oscillates at a tranquil 2.5Hz (18,000vph). The tourbillon protrudes high above the rest of the engine as a kinetic, dynamic column that terminates just short of the sapphire crystal dome's peak. A single huge diamond is affixed to the top of the upper tourbillon cage and revolves in tandem with the flying tourbillon.

A dial constructed of tiger's eye at the 7 o'clock position shows the hours and minutes with a pair of serpentine hands. The dial is tilted at a 50-degree angle so that only the wearer can read the time.

On the back, the automated winding rotor is designed like a red-gold sun with sculpted rays.

The LM FlyingT was inspired by Maximilian Büsser's reflections on the pivotal roles women have played in his life. Launched in 2019, it exuded a rich and nuanced femininity, opting to exemplify elegance and vigour above the gentler feminine standards.
