The 2023 BMW M850i Gran Coupe Jeff Koons Edition is Delightfully Vibrant

BMW has recently launched THE 8 X JEFF KOONS a limited edition art car collection with Jeff Koons marking a new chapter in the brand's long-standing collaboration with the world-renowned American artist. The special edition BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe boasts an entirely bespoke interior and exterior design designed by Mr. Koons and will be restricted to only 99 units globally. BMW previously collaborated with Futura 2000 on the M2 Competition and Ronny Fieg of KITH on the BMW M4 Competition. 

Grand Digital Premiere

The BMW 8 X JEFF KOONS will have its digital premiere at Frieze Los Angeles and will be on display in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza from April 1-4, before heading to Christie's New York for a charity auction on April 4, 2022. 

POP Go The Colours

The BMW 8 X JEFF KOONS is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable collaborations between BMW and Jeff Koons, as it incorporates vibrant, strong colours and statements of power and speed, all wrapped in a fun superhero comic concept. The "Pop!" sign and cartoon explosions, along with "vapour thrust," give the impression that it's flying through a comic book. The brilliant blue and yellow at the rear remind memories of Koons' earlier BMW creation, the Le Mans-winning E92 M3 GT2 Art Car.

Only 99 Super Exclusive Cars

This is the real luxury element to this amazing car. There is ONLY 99 of this being produced. Each of the 99 pieces will need an eleven-step painting procedure and hundreds of hours to finish. BMW's Dingolfing and Landshut facilities will produce two vehicles every week using specialist crews. Each car is accompanied by a large-format certificate of authenticity, a unique vehicle identification number (VIN), and a signature by Koons and BMW CEO Oliver Zipse.

Inside, this one-of-a-kind 8 Series Gran Coupe has a Superman-inspired colour scheme with plenty of blue and red accents, including a red headliner and floor mats. Additionally, it has piano black trim and a cup holder lid emblazoned with Koons' signature.
