Julith Cafe in Dubai Serves the World's Most Expensive Coffee - Priced at Nearly USD 1,000 a Cup

Dubai, November 2025 – Julith Café has officially raised the bar for global coffee luxury. The Dubai-based boutique café is offering what is now recognised as the world's most expensive cup of coffee, priced at 3,600 dirhams (≈US $980) and brewed from ultra-rare Nido 7 Geisha beans sourced from Panama.

A Taste Worth Its Weight in Gold

Julith Café secured a 20-kilogram lot of the prized Nido 7 Geisha beans at a high-stakes Panama auction for approximately 2.2 million dirhams (≈US $600,000) making it one of the costliest coffee acquisitions in history. From this exclusive batch, the café plans to serve just around 400 cups, with select servings reserved for Dubai's most distinguished guests, including members of the ruling family.

Barista and co-founder Serkan Sagsoz, formerly a café owner in Turkey, describes the coffee as "a liquid symphony - floral notes of jasmine, delicate citrus hints of orange and bergamot, and subtle traces of apricot, peach, and honey."

"Dubai felt like the perfect stage," Sagsoz explains. "This city celebrates the extraordinary, and this coffee isn't just a drink, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

From Panama to Perfection

The Nido 7 Geisha beans hail from the high-altitude slopes of Volcán Barú in Panama, where volcanic soil and ideal microclimates create coffees of exceptional purity and aroma. In the 'Best of Panama' competition earlier this year, a Geisha varietal fetched over US $10,000 per kilogram, solidifying its reputation as the most prized coffee in the world.

Julith Café's strategy is clear - exclusivity over volume. With just 400 servings available, the café is marketing an object of rarity and craftsmanship, much like a vintage wine or a limited-edition timepiece.

A New Symbol of Dubai's Luxury Culture

Just weeks ago, Dubai made headlines when another café earned a Guinness World Record for a 2,500-dirham (≈US $680) cup of coffee. Julith Café's offering now surpasses that benchmark, once again confirming Dubai's position as the epicentre of experiential luxury.

From fine dining and haute couture to exclusive gastronomy, Dubai continues to showcase that luxury here is as much about narrative and nuance as it is about material indulgence — and Julith Café's masterpiece cup fits perfectly into that ethos.

Why It Matters

  • Coffee meets couture: Ultra-rare beans and auction pricing turn coffee into a collectible art form.
  • A win for growers: Micro-lot farms in Panama and Ethiopia gain global prestige and premium value.
  • Luxury psychology: The $1,000 cup is a status symbol — a conversation piece that transcends taste.
  • Dubai's narrative: Once again, the city proves no experience is too extravagant to redefine luxury.

What to Watch

  • Whether Julith Café's 400-cup release sells out entirely — and how quickly.
  • How the café's presentation and ambience amplify the storytelling behind the experience.
  • The ripple effect: will other luxury markets launch their own ultra-premium coffee concepts?
