West Virginia To Be Adorned with Lush Green Italian Tree Houses

Peter Pichler Architecture, a Milan-based firm, has been commissioned its first American project. The prospective luxury resort will be similar to one designed for a forest in the Italian dolomite, roughly based on a model that will produce no negative environmental effects and substantially reduce energy consumption. Ideally, this project is aimed at fulfilling the living building challenge that prescribes virtually net-zero energy and no environmental impact.

Nestled right in the woods, these luxury tree houses will be an extension of the destination hotel, and will provide guests with a unique experience of opulence right in the lap of nature. Inspired by the surrounding poplar, maple and oak trees, these comfy tree houses will be geometrically designed to include sharp angled roofs, and will be constructed using local wood. They will consist of two storeys- the first will contain the bedroom area and a bathroom; the second will comprise of a small reading area and lounge. The impeccable location of Lake Dawson adds to the overall appeal- the gorgeous 40-acre spring-fed lake, beautiful restored meadows, streams, wetlands and over 100 acres of sprawling easements that together form a secured community and habitat for native species.

This project will not only focus on limiting harsh environmental impacts, but will actually work towards greatly improving the environment’s health and resilience. Spanning the creation of sustainable buildings, a dedicated conference and event centre, food and agriculture hub, health and wellness centres, educational and informational workshops, a massive visual and performing arts program- this project is a holistic approach towards not only bringing goodness to several individuals, but also pampering nature.
