IHCL to Launch Luxury Residences in Chennai Run By an All-Women Team

In an attempt to emphasize equality at workplace, Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) that is popularly known for managing the ‘Taj’ brand of hotels made a decision on Thursday announcing India’s first all-women managed luxury apartments, Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai.

The launch was dated around the 8^th of March to commemorate International Women’s Day.

In a press release, India’s leading hospitality business stated that this move was made to particularly focus on empowering women within the hospitality sector and to create equal opportunities within work space.

The initiative is testament to the brands dedication towards setting the right tone for gender equality and promoting the idea of balance in corporate settings.  

Located in Old Mahabalipuram which is known as the IT corridor of the city, the Taj Wellington Mews property will have a total of 112 luxurious apartments led by a woman general manager and a team of over 100 women across other departments of service.

Taj Wellington Mews will be ready to launch and open to the public from April 2021.
