Hublot and Modern Japanese Artist Takashi Murakami Collaborate to Launch Two NFT Digital Masterpieces

Swiss Luxury Watchmaker Hublot and Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami are redefining creative expression with the presentation of two NFT digital creations.

To commemorate Watches & Wonders, Hublot and Takashi Murakami will display two NFT digital works inspired by the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami watches.

These are inspired by the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black and the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow, the Swiss watchmaker's first two collaborations with the legendary Japanese artist scheduled to debut in 2021.

These two limited editions of 200 and 100 pieces each were quickly sold out.

The next phase of the partnership with Takashi Murakami is represented by two static NFTs depicting the smiling flower with its cheeky grin, a recurring motif in Murakami's work and the Superflat aesthetic movement.

The first NFT, based on the All Black version, will be restricted to 216 pieces, while the second, based on the very unique Sapphire Rainbow variant, will be limited to 108 pieces. These NFT digital works are primarily meant for the owners of the two limited-edition timepieces. The current owners of these watches may be readily found using Hublot's e-warranty protection and warranty system (a warranty system designed by Hublot in response to a worldwide trend begun by LVMH to combat corruption and monitor and trace the product's life cycle).

The e-warranty for Hublot watches is recorded on the AURA blockchain). If watch owners so want, they may then get their complimentary NFT in their eWallet. Hublot will then launch a website on the decentralised non-fungible token marketplace in May, allowing owners to swap their NFTs.

The introduction of the Hublot x Takashi Murakami NFTs will be accompanied by an avant-garde advertising campaign based on guerilla marketing techniques.

After being unveiled at Geneva's Watches & Wonders, posters will be secretly placed around London and New York, and gigantic light projections will illuminate landmark structures.

In May 2022, a limited quantity of these NFTs will be made accessible to the general public.
