French Footwear Brand Veja Partners With Marine Conservation Organization To Launch 'Dekkan' Shoe Featuring Sea Shepherd Logo

To commemorate and raise awareness about the work of Sea Shepherd, a non-profit organisation of marine conservationists dedicated to protecting wildlife, combating illegal fishing and whaling, and organising beach and ocean cleanups, Veja has released a special edition of their Dekkan style with the Sea Shepherd logo.

The Dekkan is Veja's specialised outdoor adventure shoe, constructed entirely of Alveomesh, a technological fabric produced entirely of recycled polyester that is renowned for its breathability and lightness, with unique Vibram soles.

Vibram, a company known for its rigorous hiking and trekking soles, teamed with Veja on the Dekkan, which features eco-friendly components. The outsoles are made from 30% Amazonian rubber and 25% rice trash. Sugarcane is used to make 70% of the midsoles, which also gives a good grip.

The all-black sea rover is inspired by the Sea Shepherd "pirates," who patrol the seas on their boats, shining a spotlight on poachers, and collaborating with local authorities to bring them to justice.

The Veja x Sea Shepherd shoe is created in Brazil and retails for 180 dollars or 135 pounds in the United Kingdom on veja-store.com
