Burma Burma Launches 'From Burma, With Tea' - A Celebration of Burmese Tea Shop Culture

Hyderabad, September 5, 2025 – This monsoon, Burma Burma invites diners to immerse themselves in the spirit of Burmese tea shops with 'From Burma, With Tea', a limited-edition menu available pan-India from September 1 to 30, 2025.

Much more than a beverage, tea in Burma is a way of life—where bustling tea shops double as social spaces filled with conversation, laughter, and comfort food. Burma Burma reimagines this tradition with a curated menu of pulled teas, iced delights, crispy bites, and flavourful shared plates.

Tea That Tells a Story

The highlight is the traditional Burmese Milk Tea, a velvety blend of black tea, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Other indulgent creations include:

  • Yangon Royal Tea – rich with a crown of cream
  • Creamy Bagan Tea – inspired by Bagan's vibrant markets
  • Iced Milk Tea – topped with milk foam cloud
  • Coconut Iced Tea – stirred with coconut milk and custard

Each tea pairs beautifully with comforting Burmese snacks and plates.

This celebration of tea culture reflects broader trends in how restaurants are creating timeless tea experiences for modern luxury dining. The emphasis on traditional tea preparation methods resonates with diners seeking authentic cultural experiences through food.

Flavourful Shared Plates

Expect bold flavours that echo the vibrancy of Burmese streets:

  • Chin State Potato Croquettes – crisp with five-spice mock meat filling
  • Corner Cart Skewers – sticky, pan-seared mock meatballs in chilli glaze
  • Cracklin' Burmese Dumplings – stuffed with shiitake & edamame
  • Seared Tofu & Avocado Salad – zesty with chilli-garlic oil and lime
  • Tea Shop Noodle Bowl – slurp-worthy udon in onion-chilli curry
  • Tea Shop Toast – honey-glazed bread in custard apple milk, topped with clotted cream

This diverse menu showcases Burma Burma's commitment to authentic flavors while maintaining their vegetarian ethos. The variety of dishes reflects the rich culinary traditions of Burma's street food culture, similar to how other restaurants are embarking on authentic culinary journeys to celebrate regional specialties.

A Tribute to Tradition

"Burmese Tea Shops are living, breathing spaces of culture and community," said Ankit Gupta, Founder, Burma Burma. "After years of sipping tea in Burma's stalls and tea houses, we wanted to bring that experience to our diners—reimagined the Burma Burma way."

Head Chef Ansab Khan and his culinary team drew inspiration from Burmese tea masters, blending nostalgia with innovation. The result is a menu that's authentic yet contemporary, soulful yet playful.

This approach to honoring culinary traditions while creating contemporary dining experiences aligns with broader trends in the hospitality industry, where establishments are creating unique dining experiences that celebrate cultural heritage. The focus on community and social dining reflects how restaurants are reimagining traditional food cultures for modern audiences.

About Burma Burma

Since 2014, Burma Burma has introduced India to the flavours of Burma through a modern, vegetarian lens. Co-founded by Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta, the brand now has 18 restaurants and a delivery kitchen across India, with each location offering more than just food—a window into Burmese culture, heritage, and hospitality.

The brand's success in creating culturally immersive dining experiences positions it among restaurants that understand the importance of storytelling through food. Similar to other successful restaurant concepts, Burma Burma has built a loyal following by consistently delivering authentic experiences that transport diners to different cultures and traditions.

The limited-edition nature of this menu creates exclusivity and urgency, encouraging food enthusiasts to experience these authentic Burmese tea shop flavors during the monsoon season.
