Bugatti Calandre - A Masterpiece of Horology, Sculpture & Automotive Heritage

In a rare fusion of automotive heritage, haute horology, and sculptural brilliance, Jacob & Co., Bugatti, and Lalique have unveiled the Bugatti Calandre - an extraordinary table clock born of legacy and innovation.

Limited to just 99 pieces and priced at $240,000, this collaboration celebrates not just timekeeping, but timeless artistry.

Sculpted Heritage: Design That Channels a Century of Bugatti

The Bugatti Calandre derives its name from the French word for radiator grille - a nod to Bugatti’s iconic horseshoe front. But the tribute doesn't end there. The clock features:
Twin Lalique Dancing Elephants, inspired by Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous sculpture on the Type 41 Royale.

A deep red Bugatti Macaron logo prominently placed above the grille.

A Lalique-molded crystal case, echoing historical elegance and modern refinement.

The timepiece draws directly from Bugatti’s design vocabulary while adding Jacob & Co.’s innovation and Lalique’s mastery in crystal artistry.

At the core of the Calandre is JCAM58, a specially developed caliber showcasing a one-minute vertical flying tourbillon, engineered for the vertical positioning of table clocks. This mechanical marvel:

Is hand-wound

Offers an 8-day power reserve

Operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour (3Hz)

Is adjusted using a bespoke key at the caseback - reinforcing its vintage spirit.

This is horology, elevated.

The Jacob-Cut Gemstone: A Fiery Crown

A 30 mm red gemstone, in Jacob & Co.'s patented 288-facet Jacob Cut, crowns the Bugatti Calandre. This stone is more than ornament - it’s a tribute to high jewelry and Bugatti’s signature red identity. Its fiery brilliance is both a visual signature and a declaration of exclusivity.

Lalique’s Crystal Mastery: Light, Sculpture, and Soul

Lalique brings over a century of French crystal excellence to the project:

Handcrafted in Wingen-sur-Moder, where crystal mastery was born in 1922.

Light, Sculpture, and Soul

Intricately frosted and polished to magnify texture and dimension.

Each crystal body is molded, cooled, and refined for months, capturing light like no ordinary glass could.

Lalique’s process ensures every Calandre is a collector’s objet d’art - one that shines with elegance and emotion.

Three Brands. One Vision. This creation is also a tribute to shared DNA:

Jacob Arabo and René Lalique both began as jewelers.

Ettore Bugatti and Lalique once co-owned Clos Sainte Odile, an exclusive retreat turned gourmet destination.

All three brands share roots in Alsace, where craftsmanship and industrial artistry blend seamlessly.

The Bugatti Calandre is more than collaboration - it’s convergence.

Encased in Elegance

Each of the 99 limited edition pieces arrives in a bespoke tan leather trunk, echoing Bugatti’s luxurious interiors. It’s not just packaging; it’s part of the experience.

This is not just a clock. It’s a story in motion, forged by three giants of their craft.
