British Singer-Songwriter Ed Sheeran Collaborating With Lucy & Yak on a Fashion Line

Ed Sheeran, the renowned musician and songwriter, is releasing a limited-edition capsule collection with the independent apparel brand Lucy & Yak. The collection draws inspiration from the artwork of his most recent album, Equals.

The unisex collection designed by Ed Sheeran and Yak will be available for purchase on July 14. The collection will include organic dungarees, which the singer favours and wears, as well as a sweatshirt, T-shirt, and bucket hat with an ivory and black butterfly motif to assure "seasonless wearability."

Elspeth Mills, the principal print designer of Lucy & Yak, was asked to remark on the source of inspiration for the collection's designs. She said, "When I originally learned that Lucy & Yak and Ed Sheeran would be designing a collection together, I couldn't wait to bring his vision to life in the Lucy & Yak aesthetic." I drew inspiration from the album artwork for Ed's Equals and mixed it with my own ideas to create something unique that will appeal to both Sheerios and Yakkers.

"The butterfly plays a significant part in Ed's artwork since it demonstrates his growth throughout the years. As a consequence, we knew immediately that we needed to make this the collection's centrepiece piece. It is a symbol that represents something to which people from all around the globe may relate."

According to Lucy & Yak's statement in the press release, the collection was also designed with a focus on sustainability. Both the artist and his wife Cherry are quite worried about the status of the environment, hence this action was taken. The collection includes items made from organic cotton, and the reversible Travis bucket hats are built entirely from leftover fabric.

According to Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, the butterfly on Ed's record cover has a very significant significance for him. "We are honoured to be able to bring this to life as part of such a rare collection of Yaks," she said, "especially because we know Ed shares our concern for improving the environment."

"We've been fans of Ed for over a decade, so when he contacted us about collaborating on a collection that combines Sheerios with Yakkers, we were thrilled. They are the focal point of the collection, and we had a great experience working with Ed's devoted followers to model the pieces."

When available on July 14, 2022, prices for the Ed Sheeran & Yak collection will range from 22 pounds for the hat to 65 pounds for the dungarees.
