AALTO+AALTO

Based out of the heart of Finland, this design shop of Helsinki will blow your mind. Their products are so very thoughtful and are truly an inspiration. It was founded by Elina Aalto and Klaus Aalto for the sole purpose of working with products, spaces and exhibitions.

The work at A+A is strongly driven by traditional techniques of Finland. They aim to make timeless pieces every time which are extremely unique.

A+A is known to work and collaborate with several factories, flea markets and host several exhibitions. At A+A imagination is abundant and giving life to the said imagination is also possible due to highly trained artisans working their way through generations. Their work has also been on display in the collection of several design museums of Helsinki and Quebec. In 2014, Aalto + Aalto was awarded the prestigious IF Golden Product Design Award for their innovative Vakka, a multi-functional container that can be used as a stackable piece of furniture.

Elina is a product designer and an architect by profession. She also enjoys teaching at Aalto university. She is well versed with the versatility that is needed to create elegance. she is also a founding member of Imu design which produces Talentshop and Photoshop which are Helsinki based design exhibitions. Klaus wanted to become an archaeologist when he was younger. This drove him towards old architectural structures which still have a reflection in some of his present pieces. The two couple enjoy home museums, which inculcate designs from many different eras but are still very easy to work with. History and roots are the core values of these two, and I'm sure you will love their phenomenal work.
